For many years Jelfa Pharmaceutical Company SA has actively supported the activities of miscellaneous institutions, organisations as well as cultural, educational and sports associations. The Company participates actively in the life of the city, region and country. Substantial funds are contributed to organise events promoting the Karkonosze tourist attractions, for interesting cultural initiatives as well as for operation of social welfare and educational centres. Jelfa is listed among the sponsors of Bieg Piastów (a cross-country skiing race) as well as the International Festival of Organ Music in Jelenia Góra. Those events enjoy large attendance both by the Poles and foreigners from numerous countries.
As part of its engagement in the local community life, Jelfa conducts various social activities, provides material and financial aid for the poor, homeless and handicapped, for pupils from orphanages as well as for the elderly at pension houses. Thinking of children, for several years the Company has organized theatre performances, movie spectacles as well as miscellaneous events on the Children’s Day and on Santa Clause Day. Each year such actions covered over a thousand persons.
Jelfa gets lively involved in the promotion of health. It purchases medical equipment and donates medicines to healthcare centres. The Company promotes the healthy lifestyle. For the next year, Jelfa has joined the Polish countrywide action called "Pink Ribbon" that promotes prophylactics as an important measure in fighting the breast cancer. Hence, out of each sold package of multivitamin preparation Falvit, the Company has contributed PLN 0.10 to purchases of high-class medical equipment.
For its participation in that action Jelfa was awarded the title of "Women’s Friend" by the Polish first lady, Mrs. Jolanta Kwaśniewska.
